First Influence

First Influence

One of the biggest reasons Amelia Earhart was such a big influence on people was her capability to ignore society and their opinions on what woman can and can not do. When she realized her love for flying, Amelia was able to work hard and receive her air licenses in 1920, and she was able to live her dream as a female pilot. Through her hard work, Earhart received many awards and honors and set first time altitude and speed records. She was asked to fly many planes such as the “Vega”, the “Friendship”, and the “Lockhead Eletra,” across the country. Earhart also entered into the first woman’s air derby and received third place. Earhart also did not accept any credit for flying in the “Friendship” as a passenger, and wanted to fly the same route solo. People were amazed by Earhart’s sense of adventure and capability of enjoying and completing such dangerous tasks. Earhart’s bravery showed that it does not matter if you are a female or male, if you put your mind to anything, then you can succeed.
